About The Artist

Gustave Caillebotte was a French Neo-Impressionist painter alive from 1848-1894. Caillebotte was from a wealthy family. By trade, he was a lawyer and an engineer. He also served in the military. He did not initially find success as an artist. Caillebotte was an early proponent of photography as a form of art.
