The Angelus by Jean-Francois Millet - Canvas Print

About Jean Francois Millet The Angelus

Thinking about adding The Angelus print to your wall?

Jean Francois Millet created this work of art in 1857-1859 in France.

The painting shows two peasants marking the end of a day’s work by saying the Angelus prayer over a basket of potatoes.

Many presume that the church bell is ringing in the background to mark the end of the day’s work. American art collector commissioned this work but never came to collect it.

The original painting is in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.

A beautiful print, especially for the cost!! I used a frame I already had and when it was finished, it looked museum worthy!
